This bunny was lovingly handmade by my husband's late grandmother from vintage chenille and linen remnants. Her crafts are truly one of a kind with none of them being just alike. She is the inspiration behind my work with vintage linens as well. She gave me my first sewing machine and talked me through my first few stitches on it.
She made these dolls for 40+ years using quilts, fabrics, linens, embroidery, and textiles from the past. She used worn and forgotten about materials and gives them a new life. No good quilts were destroyed simply to make these. The dolls have no faces because the idea is to focus on all the wonderful quilts and linens that have been reinvented in her dolls. All linens have been washed before being made into dolls.
This particular bunny measures approximately 17 inches tall and is made up of layers of vintage linens. Underneath her skirts you can find her legs in a darling pair of bloomers.
My husband's grandmother, Norma, made and sold her repurposed vintage linen crafts for over 40 years at craft shows and fairs across the country. She has been featured in magazines for her talent over the years.
Thank you for your interest and support in my grandmother's vintage quilt creations!
